NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving

The University of Iowa's women's swimming and diving team dives in the water Saturday with the intra squad meet here in Iowa City at 10am in the Field House. Iowa's women's swimming and diving team finished unranked last year, so there is room for improvement.

In my continuing series, let's take a look at the 2005-2006 financial data for NCAA women's swimming and diving programs. Both Iowa and Iowa State had per student losses that were quite a bit below the average for their conference and the other major NCAA Division I conferences, even though they have typically fewer athletes than the average in those conferences.

Iowa 27 $115,417 $534,443 -$419,026 -$15,519
Iowa State 25 $206,203 $538,340 -$332,137 -$13,285
