Academics & Business Management

Every once in a while I get a question about the practicality or applicability of academic economists to the business world. It is a fair question as most academic economists are not interested in questions that business people are and address the answers to these questions in a way that is highly abstract and mathematical. Great for academia, not so helpful for every day business management.

In an effort to think about the role of academia (in general) to business management, the Financial Times has a great article on this exact issue.
