Privatize the FAA

The Economist reported that the US Congress could not agree on a funding extension for the FAA primarily due to a disagreement over a $16.5 million subsidy for remote airports. As a result the US government is losing $30 million A DAY in uncollected federal taxes on airline tickets. My solution is for the US Congress to solve this problem by allowing the FAA to be privatized. The US government still could collect the airline ticket taxes and the private firm could charge airports and airlines for their services. At least a private firm(s) would be more efficient.
