Cost Effectiveness and Prostrate Cancer

In Health Economics today we will be looking at various measures of cost effectiveness when it comes to health care procedures.  Here is a recent article from The Wall Street Journal on the use of proton-beam for prostate tumors and the conclusion is that the additional cost of the procedure does not lead to a proportional increase in benefits.  Hence as a cost effective treatment, the use of proton-beam treatment would not be "worth" it.
